The Green Turtle , also known as aruanã in Brazil, it feeds exclusively of algae. This sea turtle has a greenish or grayish brown carapace and is almost four feet long (1.20 meters). It weighs, on average, 550 pounds (250 kilos) and may reach 770 pounds (350 kilos). When juvenile it can be seen, with relative easiness, along the Brazilian coast.
The Green Turtles prefers the oceanic islands, in the summer, to nesting as "Fernando de Noronha" – Pernambuco state, "Atol das rocas" - Rio Grande do Norte state and "Trindade" - Espírito Santo state, but they feed in the Brazilian coast from São Paulo state until Ceará state.
It has this name because of the greenish color of their cartilage and the fat deposits around their internal organs, green turtles are dark brown or greenish yellow in color and its carapace is oval when viewed from above, and the head is relatively small. The young turtles is dark brown or almost black.
It is the largest of the all sea turtles with hard carapace. It can grow up until 1,5 meters and its weight varies from 40Kg to 160Kg, although its weight arrive up to 350Kg. Individuals from different populations vary widely in size.
This species of turtle has heavy migration behavior. It covered long distances, around 2200 Km, between nesting sites and feeding grounds in the coast of Brazil.
They nest between 2 to 5 times for station. The amount of eggs for nest varies from 38 to 195. It is the species most found in Brazil. It was used broadly to make of Soup of Turtle.

The Olive turtle is the smallest of all the sea turtles, measuring about 60 centimeters and weigh around 65 kilos. It is called olive because its carapace is greenish gray. It feeds on fish, mollusks, crustaceans, mainly shrimps, and water plant. Today, the coast of the state of Sergipe is where the greatest concentration of this species may be found nesting.
Its carapace is almost round and the lateral shields are always more than 5 evens. The Olive Turtle is green or gray.
It is the smallest of the sea turtles, its size vary from 51cm to 80cm, and the adult male is 3cm bigger than the female and weighs less 2 Kg. It can has up 60 Kg when adult.
It inhabits mainly the Northern Hemisphere and it is almost unknown around the oceanic islands.
It was probably (and it is still) the more abundant sea turtle of the world. There are several points where the population is plenty large and females nesting in synchronized aggregations (arribadas); they sometimes understand more than 150.000 turtles. These arribadas only happens in 2 beaches of Orissa State - India, 2 beaches on the side Pacific of Costa Rica, Suriname and Guyana.
Out of the nesting areas, the adults live in open sea, traveling or resting in superficial waters. This turtle usually migrates along banks of continental sands converging in the summer and autumn to nesting in beaches of little inclination with fine, medium or rough grains of sand. The nesting site is usually located in isolated areas. There are about 109 eggs in each nest and the incubation period extended of 45 to 65 days. The perfect " temperature " of incubation is of 30º Celsius.
Birds, mammals, and crab-ghost accomplish the predatory action of young turtle. In the sea marine birds and carnivorous fish eat them. Great fish and small sharks are capable to devour juvenile, but sub-adult and adult turtles are just eaten by sharks. Adult turtles in nesting beaches can be killed by dogs and in some areas for hyenas and tigers.
Usually it eats: fish, lobsters, crabs, algae and anemones.
