The soul of Salvador is represented by its rich culture,
ethnic diversity (native, european and african), variety
of handcraft, axé music (bahia music), dances, faith and
religions beliefs (candomble, umbanda). That’s the reason
why this city is known as the culture capital of Brazil.
Salvador has a privileged coast that can please all the tastes.
Therefore it is possible to enjoy yourself practising water
sports like surfing in strong waves or diving and swimming in
beaches with natural pools.
Here it is generally a heat-wave, where the sun and sea are
always present during the whole year and even in the winter, that
goes from june until august, it rains very little. Even in that period
the rain doesn't interfere in the contagious happiness of the people.
Anything is a real motive to have a party, but it is in the middle of february
that happens the apex of its energy with its wonderful carnival, where
thousands of tourists are attracted by the marvellous and singular
sound of the “trios elétricos” (trucks with music stage). |
